Cathy MacTaggart is a contemporary artist, whose practice explores how the skills and talents of women are recognized by the patriarchal society.
Working primarily in hand stitched textiles and print, she graduated with a first class honours degree in Contemporary Applied Arts from the University of Hertfordshire, with her collection "My Mother's Work", which used mundane objects to make sage reflections on the time-consuming, repetitive, unending domestic role of women.
Cathy is currently studying for an MA in Research, Design and Visual Arts at Coventry University.
